How to Stop Downloading and Access to Your Guest Account on a PC

Unwanted access to your computer can lead to illegal downloading and a host of other potentially harmful activities. If you have a Windows 8 PC, the Guest account is designed to enable people to log on to the computer if they don't have their own local account. If you want to stop access to the Guest account and to prevent any further downloading by people using it, you can do so via the User Accounts area of your PC's Control Panel.




Instructions

    • Log on to your PC using an account with administrative privileges.

      Swipe your mouse pointer to the upper-right corner of your screen and click "Settings" on the Charms menu.

      Click "Control Panel | User Accounts and Family Safety | User Accounts | Manage Another Account."
    • 4
      Click "Guest" on the list of accounts and then click the "Turn Off" button to disable the Guest account.
